yeah ideally thatd be it but ive just noticed that the majority of people will pay for streaming and then be like "yeah thats enough thats all im gonna spend on music", which has hurt sales more in the long run

i think theres some valid reasons not to indulge in them, but you as a consumer should be spending that elsewhere music wise to make up for it. i myself just have a hard time trusting "where the money goes" regarding paying for streaming after finding out the spotify execs were helping fund military ai tech. that idea my dollar could go more towards that than the actual artists im listening to on the platform is very uncomfortable for me and really emphasizes the danger in putting all of this distribution in the hands of tech companies

Great stuff. Definitely has Albini's distinctive sound. The Industrial-lover in me misses Big Black's drum machine, though

"Tidal pays the highest amount to artists at $0.013 a stream vs Spotify which is $0.005"

You just sparked something in me. I know I did a deep dive on this a few years back and the math gets a lot more complex quickly on this. If I recall right the whole $ per stream thing doesn't work out as simply as spotify opponents would like it to. I will see if I can find what I am referring to though.

Not a bad send off at all, might even bump later. Still very convinced that they have a few better albums.

This album is not their peak, no doubt about it. But it gets better with each listen. We’ll be pirates!

I'm pretty sure Steve Albini hated every band produced by David Bottrill, for obvious reasons.

Based Albini Tool hate

Still need to hear this, but I’m stuck perpetually listening to new Beth Gibbons (aka easily the best album released this year).
