Yea I wouldn't go that far lol but this is really solid. Even madder now that both Underoath shows they're opening on sold out near me

see i grew up on this shit it used to be my bread and butter

of the stuff i most clearly hear here (finch, underoath, glassjaw, senses fail, etc) the only band i dig these guys more than is deftones tbh. it is an album by album thing tho obv this smokes chasing safety and what it is to burn

thats the thing tho they're too new. they did nail the debut better than most of the old guard so we'll see if these guys have a say hello to sunshine or a define the great line in them (on their own terms ofc) to actually level them up

that’s a really great fucking point onion and one I agree with. I PRAY TO A GOD THAT I DONT BELIEVE IN that these guys can keep up the momentum with a follow up, because it is so goddamn rare that a band like this can come out swinging like this with a debut record. It’s just so damn quality. Obv, I have it 5’d… take a look at my fives, that makes it one of the best albums ever to me, and the hype has died down enough that I think I can say that with complete confidence

If their sophomore effort can even manage a 3.5-4 for me then this band will easily go down as an all timer for me… and they’re already pretty much there with this record alone imo.

Side note: I tried FOR YEARS now to get a hyper musically talented buddy of mine to listen to these guys (you could call me the Jay of my friend group lmao) and he finally checked them out when I said I’d buy his underoath ticket if he didn’t end up liking it… he fucking loves it. So much so that we’re getting back in his homemade studio to jam and maaaaybe (I’d be erased) record some covers. Dude is so ridiculously talented. I introduced the band to him on Friday, and between juggling his job, time with his wife, and shows he’s been going to all weekend… this fucking guy still managed to learn like five songs by Sunday evening. Now I know most tracks here aren’t particularly difficult but I still just found that so impressive and he ABSOLUTELY nailed these covers while simultaneously feeling like it’s almost half assed. Dude is a machine.

it’s gonna be a minute, we’re both pretty busy people and our schedules don’t match up very well… but I will!

Yeah it didn't floor me as much as this did but still a pretty sweet track. Then again my expectations for these guys are sky high and perhaps too much so.

Ok 5 listens in and I'm already addicted haha. Cool song for sure, almost falls in line more with the standalone singles than RCD or Prologue. Which makes me wonder if this is an older song reworked or their next step towards LP2. Either way feels good to finally have a new tune to blast. Olli is an absolute hook machine man that chorus fuckin baaaangs

god I’ve missed those hooks and riffs

Great song, completely agree jay… it doesn’t feel like something that would fit on this record. Def closer to their singles or prologue material, either way it’s fucking quality

New jam is a fuckin' bop. 10/10 for me right off the first listen. Olli can write hooks like nobody else these days.

Crying isn't as good as the peak tracks here, but it's still great. Just really happy to have new music from these guys.

Looks like Roadrunner got the rights to the pre-RCD/Prologue singles too and are combining them. They just uploaded all them in the static dress - topic page and listed as an album.

Shows up as an album on Amazon Music, YT Music, and Tidal right now. guess it’ll roll out to the other streaming services too.

Not sure why it’s called “2019-2024” though. Maybe more details and a vinyl release announcement on the stream tomorrow? Or maybe crying is a standalone single and will be added to it, just not showing yet? :S
