The London Symphony Orchestra is the oldest of London's five symphony orchestras. It was formed in 1904 by ex-members of The Queen's Hall
Orchestra due to a commitment dispute. Since the 1960s it has generally been recognised as one of the United Kingdom's leading orchestras,
and has fielded conductors such as Colin Davis, André Previn and Caludio Abbado.
The orchestra experienced a renaissance of public interest in the late-1970s after recording the official score to the first Star Wars film with
John Williams. It went on to record scores for all subsequent Star Wars films, as well as Raiders of The Lost Ark, Rise of The Guardians and
Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows Parts 1 & 2.
In total, The London Symphony Orchestra has scored over 200 films.
