Obviously great soundtrack. The complete versions are a testament to how well Shore mapped out the world here; you can pick out the filmic moments beat by beat. I checked this as part of my 2016 CLASSICS rec list and have no firm recollection of it other than finding it nice, but not āgettingā it, it or itās status. IdK, I was (uh) 21(?) then and mostly still into my narrow lanes and not much else, there was too much ādifferentā going on here (the sample heavy hip hop roots, soulful vox, electronic beeps and jazz influences) for me to wrap head around, despite how surface level listening is easy business with this (it vibes). Coming back around 8 years later is very rewarding. [4.5] pretty and sad are characteristics I remember, but not how weird haunting and emotive this is (understatedly)

Makes the 11 year old emo sad boi that never really left me feel heard and while I donāt agree entirely with the self-indulgent melodrama that drapes the mental health awareness training that this shoots for tbh the dumb blunt self-obsessed way it goes about unpacking those issues is exactly how my brain processes them in a panic on a shit day.
